Airborne Wind Turbine: 50% Better

Makani Power has created a wind turbine that is flying in the air and generating 50% more energy than a conventional on-the-ground one. This turbine flies like a kite between 800 and 1950 feet above the ground, which is below the aviation flying range and above a range of the most birds. At this altitude the winds are consistent, the turbine takes no land whatsoever and the materials used for its manufacturing are also eco-friendly. Thus, this is a very energy efficient and environmentally friendly innovation.
