A mammoth initiative under study by state and federal agencies, dubbed the “connected vehicle” program, would use Silicon Valley Technology to change how we drive. The project, planned to be operating by 2019, would outfit cars with tech gadgets so they can communicate with other vehicles and roadside equipment about various traffic hazards.
