EyeSight, an Israel-based company engaged in digital interaction, has developed an innovative fingertip tracking technology. You won’t need to use a remote control any more, cause the commercial gesture technology will enable users to control digital devices with gestures (a fingertip). Users will need a 2D webcam plugged into whatever device they are using; the screen doesn’t have to have in-built touchscreen technology to work. The company claims its software to have a wide range of applications: its compatible with TVs, phones, laptops, tablets and even in-car infotainment systems. EyeSight hopes to have the technology installed and introduced into the market by the end of 2013 and is currently offering software development kits for Windows, Android and Linux platforms.
