James McNab presents a freediving safety device, the Revival Vest, a self-inflating life jacket that uses Footfalls and Heartbeats smart fabric technology to monitor respiration and physiological changes such as drowning. Small 33 gram CO2 cylinder with automatic inflation device ergonomically lines the spine. The fabric detects changes in circumference and stretches around the chest while the diver suppresses breathing. If the wearer faints, the body becomes limp and life vest is triggered to inflate and raise the body to the surface for rescue. Its design seeks to oppose negative issues of wearing safety gear that hinder the experience.
