Awaiting for the final approval from Cupertino’s City Council is Apple’s Campus 2, which is to host 13,000 employees in the four-story, 300,000 sq. feet circular structure. Somewhat resembling a landed spaceship (according to the late Steve Jobs), the second Cali campus is to become a supplemental research facility to the existing company campus, being closed to public and featuring facilities like fitness center for employees and an auditorium for product events. According to a brochure sent by Apple’s CFO Peter Oppenheimer to area residents in May, the building will be LEED certified, having a large solar array on the main roof.
