The Youth Olympic Center designed by Zaha Hadid Architects merges the urban environment of Hexi New Town, the agricultural farmland along the Yangtze river and the rural landscapes of Jiangxinzhou Island. The center houses a 46.9 meter high floor conference center, a 314 m layer of 68 five-star hotel and office; there is a 249.5-meter-high tower for the conference hotel and recreational facilities like canteens, cafes, bars, banquet halls, gym, swimming pool, spa etc. The building features a Conference center, including a 2181-seat conference hall, a 505-seat concert hall, four multi-purpose halls, as well as conference rooms, VIP room, the actors dressing room, kitchen, staff houses equipment room and other related facilities. This architectural composition confronts the vertical (city) and horizontal (river and landscape). The project of the Center is developed for the 2014 Youth Olympic Games and it is planned to be finished by mid-2014.
