Largest Floating Wind Farm: Malta’s On It
Attempting to meet the EU requirement of 10 percent renewable energy by 2020 Malta (the island country near Sicily) is considering to build the floating wind farm. A project by Hexicon (Sweden) includes a platform with 36 turbines anchored by cables to the sea bed. If implemented this 54 megawatts floating farm would become the largest one in the world.
