Apple’s Innovative System Stores Wind Energy

One of the alternative energy sources is the wind energy and Apple has recently submitted a patent application for a system of storing wind energy as heat. Similar systems store extra energy using batteries, though Apple’s system utilizes rotation of the turbine to spin blades in the liquid to produce heat through friction. The heat exchanger transfers the heat to the second liquid until it boils and can drive a steam turbine. A strong wind will make the first liquid warm up beyond the level needed to boil the second liquid and the stored heat can be then used to make steam without the wind turbine’s input.
