PRIVATEYE 3.0, navigation device, GPS, Blind
PRIVATEYE 3.0 is essentially a navigation device enabling visually impaired people travel to unknown places. This headset is equipped with GPS and a docking station holding a Bluetooth earpiece, speakers, a microphone, a battery and a circuit board. This apparatus does not block the air canals and safety transmits GPS directions to the blind. The microphone on the headset picks up surrounding sounds to transmit them to the ears through the speakers. This device was collaboratively created by the Synthetic Imaging Research Inc (SIRI), the Adaptive Technology Resource Centre (ATRC) and OCAD University.
