Sunrise Solar Powered Thermal Airship, Metin Kaplan
Sunrise Solar Powered Thermal Airship has been designed by Metin Kaplan for far away and low speed flights. The possible missions could be recreation, observations, patrolling, documentary filming, crops fertilizing and so on. The lifting gas as well as operational gas for the Stirling engine for propulsion of this balloon is hot air warmed up by the sun. Sunrise has 2-axis sun tracking system to ensure the lens to always face the sun. The balloon aircraft mixes hot and cold air for lifting and stores extra energy in a flywheel as rotating motion.
