Beyond Meat startup backed up by the Obvious Corporation (founded by Twitter co-founders) with invested capital from Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers produces plant-based meat out of soy chicken product, planning to leave soy behind too. Their first product (the result of years of work by the researchers at the University of Missouri and University of Maryland) – Veggie Chicken Strips are already sold in Northern Cali and will be available throughout the Western U. S. in fall. The video created for Fast Company tells how the company uses a process similar to 3D printing for ‘fake’ meat creation.
