Daimler: Networking System For Cars

Daimler car-to-X (C2X) communication system between vehicles and vehicles to infrastructure is to be tested big time with 120 networking cars on the roads of Germany. Built on technologies of Network on Wheels (NoW) and Fleetnet projects by Daimler, the C2X system is designed to make drivers be aware of potential traffic hazards through vehicles communication and to improve traffic flow via interaction with traffic lights. Through this DRIVE C2X project and involvement in the CAR 2CAR Communication Consortium (C2C CC), the automaker aims to standardization of the system and its functioning across Europe.
