IBM: Long-Range EV To Travel 500 miles With Lithium-Air Battery

IBM seems to be concerned about the future of our planet and thus develops lithium-air battery technology to provide 500 miles travel on a single charge to future electric vehicles. The lithium-air battery (Li-air) uses oxygen from the atmosphere to generate electricity and emits it back. Thus, it remains eco-friendly and as well light. IBM has partnered with Central Glass (an electrolyte producer) and Asahi Kasei (a membrane supplier) to solve the current issues the battery has with electrolyte and air filtering. The IMB made it clear that it’s going to license a fee for the technology without getting involved into its manufacturing.
