Alvarez Electric Motors (California) plans to create a nationwide network of EcoCenters franchises selling their affordable green vehicles: Eco-E Commuter Car, EcoVan and EcoTruck. AEMC’s vehicles are made to be neighborhood electric cars, meant for in-town driving with the top speed of 25 mph and a range of around 40 miles. The prices for the eco-cars are set as follows: Eco-E two-seater for $9,995, the EcoTruck for $ 16,995, and EcoVan for $17,995. With tax credits, local and state rebates they should cost even cheaper. And the cost of electricity consumed per month is to reach $5, Alvarez estimates.
