WobbleWorks, a robotic toy company, has unveiled the 3Doodler 3D printing pen, a good alternative to 3D printers at a reasonable price, which will introduce a new level of accessibility and ease of use. The project has gathered over $150,000 from more than 1,700 backers with only 33 days to go in its Kickstarter campaign. The 3Doodler 3D printing pen can be used to customize existing plastic objects, to make ad hoc repairs, and also to make more-precise drawings with stencils. You can load the device with either ABS or PLA plastic, the 3Doodler “prints” plastic objects by letting you draw them in freehand in three-dimensional space. Due to variable temperature settings users can use both PLA and ABS plastic. All you’ll need is a power outlet, so everybody interested in experimenting with 3D printing is welcome to try it.
