Organic Transistors From… Human Body

protein-based transistors
Tel Aviv University (TAU) research team has found a very original basis for transistors building materials; they are completely organic and found in the human body. As a result, these protein-based transistors are biodegradable and bendable nano-technology that could be used in screens, tablets, microprocessors and cellphones green production. Main component of organic transistors are milk, blood and mucus proteins. The molecules self-organize into a semi-conducting coat in a nano-particle size. When all three kinds of proteins are merged an absolute circuit with both optical and electronic properties is formed. The TAU scientists suppose their protein transistors would succeed in creating sustainable small flexible devices.
