Solar 3D Inc. has developed an innovative 3D solar cell technology. They claim their original conversion of sunlight into electricity will produce 200 percent more power than the conventional solar cells. This breakthrough single wafer silicone cell has two highly improved features: light collection, and high conversion. Light collection in Solar3D’s product is possible even in winter or with indirect sunlight. And the sunlight is caught within the photovoltaic microstructures till the photons get converted into electrons. One more advantage of the Sola3D PVs is usage of widely applicable silicone rather than the expensive cadmium during the production process.
