Innovative Laser Device For Cutting Of Foodstuff (+VIDEO)
Andrey Kokorin, Russian design student, has developed a brand new conceptual device for this year’s James Dyson Award – a competition for young designers. The Innovative Laser Device For Cutting Of Foodstuff might substitute a kitchen knife in future and solve the problem of unsanitary kitchen utensils. After putting food in a spherical pod, this smart device will cut food with the help of lasers: a number of rotating rings lined with electromagnets are coordinated by an internal microprocessor to cut food into millimeter-thin slices or segments based on mass. Cutting type can be chosen with the help of a simple visual menu on the work surface near the device.
