Eyes-Free Method On The Road
A new gesture-based system developed by Harman will let you drive a car and do different additional actions, without taking your hands off of the steering wheel and without even glancing at the dashboard. It makes driving more comfortable and safer, enabling a driver tune in the radio, turn on the air conditioning or phone smb without looking aside. The technology works by recognizing hand, head and eye movements. Pre-set functions are activated due to special sensors in the dashboard, which catch all your movements and gestures, if you are winking, tilting your head or moving your hand in a certain way. This smart system might be introduced into the market in 2 or 3 years, in the meantime the company must ensure acceptabiity and unoffending character of the pre-set gestures in all the countries.
